Objective: This is an introduction to applying effects to text.
Method: Use the following Link to search for THREE tutorials on Text effects. The goal is to gain an understanding of how to apply different effects to text. Use YOUR NAME (first only) in place of the word in the tutorial.
You will choose THREE different text effects to complete.
**Do not download the font** Use a similar one that is already installed instead.
Turn In: Export your final images as a PNG and post to your blog and discuss what tools were used and what struggles you had to overcome to achieve the finished piece.

Use the Pluralsight videos to master the proper steps in modeling a basic low-poly building. This will be an exercise in developing and adding onto the skills that you attained in the last tutorial. We will also begin discussing modeling in this tutorial. Make sure to download the exercise files.
Post progress snips to your blog every Wednesday and Friday as you work through the videos. Make sure to write brief descriptions for each post that contains which steps, techniques, and tools that you utilized that day.
Objective: work on becoming more familiar and comfortable with modeling tools in Maya
Method: Follow the below tutorials to master the proper steps in modeling a basic humanoid character.The videos are in an older version of Maya, but most of the tools are the same. In video 3 you will use the bridge tool instead of the append tool to join the fingers to the rest of the hand.
Turn In: Post daily progress snips to your blog as you work through the videos. Make sure to write brief descriptions for each post that contains which steps, techniques, and tools that you utilized that day.
Objective: Reaffirm previous knowledge of basic shape tools and learn other modification techniques with the Pathfinder panel.
Method: Use this tutorial to create a “Not so scary” Yeti. The look must be the same, but feel free to play with the colors.
Turn in: Save the finished design in your illustrator folder as both an .AI and a .PNG file. The .png file needs to be posted to your blog. Describe the techniques that you used. What was your favorite part of the tutorial? What did you struggle with most and how did you overcome it?
Objective: Learning to use the basic shape tools as well as other time saving tools like the Shapebuilder tool.
Method: Use this tutorial to create a basketball player in your own likeness. You can be creative with your color choices.
Turn in: Once you finish, save both an uncompressed .AI and a compressed .PNG file into your Illustrator folder and post the .PNG file to your blog with an explanation of the project steps, what tools you used, and what issues you had to overcome.
Objective: Develop a solid understanding of the core features available in Maya and learn its User Interface (UI) and how to navigate within the three-dimensional space.
Method: Use the “Getting Started with Maya” Unit of this online tutorial titled Maya 2018 Fundamentals to discern the Maya UI and gain an understanding of how to navigate the space, create projects, and perform functions using some of Maya’s core tools. Do not work onto the Basic Modeling unit.
Turn In: Use the snipping tool to captures images of you working along with the video. Explain what you have learned while following along with the tutorial.
